Overview

The Underwater Acoustic Communications Research Group at the University of Illinois is lead by Professor Andrew C. Singer. Its mission is to simplify and improve the signal processing behind underwater acoustic communication systems. It is part of a larger effort sponsored by the Naval Research Lab to improve the Navy's underwater acoustic modems. Groups at MIT and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution also contribute to this effort.
